Geology
If geology is your jam, then you’ll be in heaven at this pre-historic park. The park is considered to have one of the world’s best examples of the K-T Boundary marking the boundary between the Mesozoic and Cenozoic geologic eras. It also features the Purgatoire River, which cuts through Upper Cretaceous Trinidad Sandstone and Pierre Shale.
Bring your camera and favorite archaeology books and study the unique rock formations, soil, and landscape, then journal about it in detail. People from around the world come here to study the unique landscape.
